“I took a listen to the Sofi Reed EP tracks attached and was really impressed! As the press release points out her previous history in music certainly lends itself to a different take on the singer songwriter.”
BBC Introducing.. in Scotland / Radio 1 – Ally McCrae
Aberdeen Student Radio / Magazine
“Chilly Teeth is the new EP from Taunton based singer songwriter Sofi Reed, and could be the release that will propel her towards the mainstream. Or as close as one can get in terms of reputation and notoriety.
Playing at times what could be described as synth-acoustic and at other times pop with a more urban beat, Sofi Reed likes to experiment with her sounds and this comes across well in her songs.
The second track, ‘Break My Fall’ is more of a gentle tune, but carries Sofi’s trademark voice, one that conveys emotion across all scales.
The third track, ‘Landslide’ perfectly showcases the acoustic side of Sofi Reed, with some lovely acoustic guitar work sliding across the musical landscape her lyrics paint. Arguably at her strongest when it’s just her voice and guitar, this is a perfect example of the musical and lyric nous she brings to her music.
So, there you have it. Sofi Reed, young lady of many talents. And hopefully one you’ll be hearing a lot more of soon.”
Terry ‘Blackjaz’ Muller – Old School Productions
“When I first stumbled across Sofi Reed I was immediately taken by her vocals. Soulful, chilled and sincere and the live version was by no means a disappointment…………Sofi performed a set of original tracks filled with passionate and well executed lyrics some simple but very effective guitar work and exactly the attitude I expect to find in a self promoting performer……….Keep it up Sofi, the audience loved it and wed all love to see you back at the showcase soon.”
“The best of the emerging talent for 2011”
